To ensure that advertisers reach an effective share of our online audience, the minimum buy is 50,000 impressions per week. Advertisers can target a more specific audience by choosing certain pages on the site. Targeted banners are available for an additional $5 per 1,000 impressions. Additional fees apply for road blocks, PointRoll, and other rich media. All ad rates are net.

We can accept static or animated gifs or jpegs; we can accept
flash files and rich media if accompanied by a back-up gif or
jpeg. Maximum file size: 40k. E-mail your ad to your sales
representative or to
onlineadvertising@chicagoreader.com,
along with the URL link for the ad.
The Reader's experienced design staff is happy to design your ad
for you. Please allow one week for production and approval time before
it can be posted online.
1. E-mail blasts
We send out three subscriber-based e-mail blasts each week:

2. Restaurant Advertisers
Visitors can print out coupons, view menus and see photos of their
favorite restaurants online:

A print ad runs in the Chicago Reader
and The Reader's Guide each week to highlight the participating
advertisers and support the program. Best of all, this feature is free to
restaurants who purchase ads in the Reader or Reader's Guide
under one of two print programs. The price for non-print advertisers is
$50.00 per online item, per week. Ask your sales representative about this
special offer.
